While everything else has been delayed for the year, Amazon Prime Video is moving forward with the release of the second season of The Boys next month. What's great is, we have a new final trailer, and it gives us more on new character Stormfront and the whole plot for the next season.
Here's the official description:
In a more intense, more desperate Season 2 of THE BOYS, Butcher, Hughie, and the team reel from their losses in Season 1. On the run from the law, they struggle to fight back against the Superheroes. As Vought, the company that manages the heroes cashes in on the panic over the threat of Supervillains, and a new hero, Stormfront, shakes up the company and challenges an already unstable Homelander.
As the description suggests, the clash between Homelander and Stormfront is going to be one of the main things about the film. While Stormfront was a man in the comics, it looks like they're giving the character a slight tweak when it comes to the show. I mean, she's supposed to be the "Nazi Superman" so it's going to be interesting to see how that plays out against a psycho like Homelander.
Besides that, it looks like we're also going to be seeing more of Starlight's story. While there are clips of her still working with the Seven, there are also some shots where she's actually hanging out with Hughie and Bill Butcher. We don't know what that entails, but we know from the first season that she's pretty much against the status quo of the Seven already.
The next season of The Boys premieres on Amazon Prime Video on Sept. 4.
