Final Fantasy XIV Will Crossover With Nier: Automata This October

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has been no stranger to crossovers, thanks to promotional events with Capcom's Monster Hunter: World. It seems like Square Enix is looking for a more internal crossover this time around since it was announced that Final Fantasy XIV will crossover with Nier: Automata this coming October. Considering how amazing Nier: Automata is and how it doesn't get enough love, this is great news.

Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XIV patch 5.1 will be called Vows of Virtue, Deeds of Cruelty, due to the upcoming crossover with Nier: Automata. Aside from the usual updates and bug fixes that Square Enix likes to do, there will be a new Alliance Raid that takes place in The Copied Factory from Automata.

Yoko Taro, who helmed Nier: Automata, the original Nier, and Drakengard, said that he wants this new raid to be accessible to fans who are familiar with his work and those who don't. The Nier raid will have enemies from the popular JRPG from Taro and Platinum Games, along with some surprising guest stars. Sadly, 2B doesn't appear to be in the crossover but 2P will. Yay?

I still haven't finished Nier: Automata but it is a thrilling action RPG that everyone should pick up and play. Hopefully, this raid could mean that there will be more Nier games coming in the near future but we'll take this for now.

Final Fantasy XIV: Vows of Virtue, Deeds of Cruelty will be coming out in late October. Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is available now, along with its Shadowbringers expansion.
