FF 14 RELEASE DATE For PS5 Open Beta, Signup Information and Updates for Final Fantasy XIV

Final Fantasy XIV fans have been waiting for one of the best MMORPG to get a next-gen console launch, and they will be delighted to know that it's coming soon.

The Final Fantasy XIV Open Beta for PlayStation 5 will be released on the next-gen console on April 13, 2021. This was revealed in a tweet from the official FFXIV Twitter account, whiich said that the PS5 Open Beta for the popular MMORPG will coincide with the launch of Patch 5.5. Players who are currently playing on the PlayStation 4 version will be able to use their existing characters and game data during the open beta test. Exclusive benefits for PS5 includes "greatly increased frame rates, true 4K resolution, 3D Audio and haptic feedback."

The official FFXIV website has shared instructions on how to participate in the PS5 Open Beta.

PlayStation®4 Physical Edition Users

PlayStation®4 Digital Download Users

Users who are currently playing the digital download version will be able to upgrade directly to the PlayStation®5 version without visiting the PlayStation™Store first.

1. On your PlayStation®5, sign in with the PlayStation Network account you are using to play the PlayStation®4 version.

2. Select "FINAL FANTASY XIV" from the Game Library menu.

3. Select the "PS5 Upgrade Edition (Beta Version)" icon on the right side of the game screen.

4. On the store page, press the […] button and select "FINAL FANTASY XIV PS5 Upgrade Edition (Beta Version)" to proceed with the download.

5. Once the download is complete, launch the PlayStation®5 version of FINAL FANTASY XIV from the FINAL FANTASY XIV game screen.

PlayStation®5 users who are new to FINAL FANTASY XIV

1. Visit PlayStation™Store on your PlayStation®5 and navigate to the FINAL FANTASY XIV store page.

2. On the store page, press the […] button and select "FINAL FANTASY XIV Free Trial" to download the Free Trial client.

3. Once the download is complete, launch the PlayStation®5 version of FINAL FANTASY XIV from the FINAL FANTASY XIV game screen.

Square Enix notes that all data from the beta will be transferred to the full version. The PS5 version's official service start date will be announced on the lodestone, and determined "based on the progress of the open beta test."
