Fans Want to Cast Logan Lerman as Poseidon Following Walker Scobell's Casting as Percy Jackson

Following Disney's recent announcement about Walker Scobell's casting as the new Percy Jackson in the upcoming Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians, fans now have another demand. Though fans are excited to see The Adam Project star in his biggest role yet, they also want to see the former Percy Jackson actor, Logan Lerman, in the upcoming series as Percy Jackson's father, Poseidon.

Based on the best-selling novel by Rick Riordan, the first live-action Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief premiered in 2010 starring lead stars Brandon T. Jackson as Grover Underwood, Alexandra Daddario as Annabeth Chase, and Logan Lerman as Percy Jackson. The first film was followed by a sequel Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters in 2013, but unfortunately, the franchise's development into a trilogy was scrapped after the Percy Jackson threequel was canceled due to the negative feedback from both critics and viewers, particularly how the live-action films failed to accurately portray what's in the book.

In both Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, Percy's dad Poseidon plays a very prominent role in Percy's adventure as a demigod. Poseidon helped Percy in navigating his journey to their Greek mystical world, and also saved his son's life multiple times.

Now that a reboot is finally in development for Disney+, fans want to see Logan Lerman again, but not as Percy. Fans want Lerman to star as Poseidon in the upcoming Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.

Seeing Logan Lerman again in the reboot will certainly be nostalgic. After all, fans pointed out that Lerman's portrayal of Percy is flawless, and the issue is with the film's writing. Fortunately, Disney appears to be on board with making the series as accurate as of the book. In Rick Riordan's novel, Percy is originally twelve years old, while in the first live-action films, he is already sixteen years old. Following the twelve-year-old Scobell's casting as the new Percy, it's one step ahead of Disney giving us an accurate depiction of Rick Riordan's book.

However, as much as we want to see Logan Lerman in the upcoming reboot of the Percy Jackson series, Disney hasn't confirmed anything yet about the actor's return to the franchise. But if these online petitions persist, Disney might even consider bringing him back as Poseidon.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians is currently in casting and writing development with Disney.
