Fans Speculate Henry Cavill Is Joining Forces With Disney After Appearance at Avatar 2 Premiere

Following the shakeup and news that fan favorite Henry Cavill as Superman is completely out of the DCU, the last few weeks have been a wild ride for DC fans. Given these instances, fans are on the lookout for what could be next for the Man of Steel star, and his recent appearance at the premiere of Avatar: The Way of the Water gave fans something to think about.

Despite the absence of director James Cameron, Cavill has been a good substitute, as he graced the red carpet in his dashing suit, posing for the press. As the new images of the Witcher star circulated online, fans were constantly asking, “What's he doing there?” “Has he finally joined Disney?” See fans reactions below:

These past few months Cavill has been the subject of numerous headlines starting from his long-celebrated cameo as Superman in Black Adam. On October, the British actor wrote on Instagram that his brief cameo is just the beginning of his return, “A very small taste of what's to come, my friends,”

However, in the same month, Cavill also announced his exit as Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s fantasy series The Witcher. He noted that it’s time for him to move on as Liam Hemsworth takes it from here. Fans were devastated by the news, but hopeful that the Enola Holmes actor will now have the time to focus as Superman.

Now despite the presence of rumors concerning the future of Superman in the DCU, James Gunn says the Man of Steel is still a huge priority. He responded on Twitter, “Yes of course. Superman is a huge priority, if not the biggest priority,”

In a different thread, Gunn also clarified that claims he “does not like Henry Cavill” are simply “false.” The DC chief is also asking the fans to wait as they give these characters and the stories the time and attention they deserve.
