Fans are Enraged with Killing Eve's Writers After Shockingly Killing Beloved Character in the Finale

Now that the four-season-long well-acclaimed BBC America series Killing Eve already wrapped things up for Eve and Villanelle, fans are extremely unsatisfied with the show's ending.

The final episode of Killing Eve premiered last Sunday and follows Eve and Villanelle's reunion after their prolonged mouse-and-cat chase. Throughout the series, the interaction between Villanelle and Eve was just usually them betraying or hurting each other. While the series always hinted at the two main character's extreme affection for one another, it never happened because they never got the chance. Eventually, the last episode finally brings Eve and Villanelle together, on a romantic road trip while hunting down The Twelve.

Sadly, it didn't last for very long. Eve and Villanelle were able to find the meeting location of The Twelve, and Villanelle successfully killed them all. While it appears that a happy ending is waiting for the two fan-beloved main characters, Villanelle was shockingly shot by a sniper while hugging Eve, and the two jumped towards to water to hide. Later on, it was revealed that Carolyn ordered the execution of Villanelle.

While Eve and Villanelle are submerged in the water, Eve was seen trying to reach Villanelle but wasn't able to do so, which clearly hints that Villanelle is officially dead.

With the show's tragic ending, fans are furious with the writers of the show for not giving them what they wanted, a happy ending for the two protagonists.

Well, it's surely disappointing how the writers decided to kill Villanelle at the very last scene after they successfully accomplished their ultimate goal to eliminate The Twelve. In comparison to the book where Killing Eve was based, Codename Villanelle by Luke Jennings, the two lived happily ever after. The two lived a quiet life in a Moscow suburb, Villanelle enrolled in college while Eve teaches part-time online.

A Killing Eve spin-off is reportedly in the works but will no longer star Sandra Oh's Eve Polastri and Jodie Comer's Villanelle. The spin-off will now center on Fiona Shaw's Carolyn in her beginnings as a brilliant Russian Spy.
