Fallout 76 will go down in history as one of the most botched launches in Bethesda's history and the fact that they added a $100 subscription with exclusive content is pretty messed up. Even with all of its flaws, there are still a lot of fans who play the game constantly, even if there aren't a lot of things to do. That's about to change as Bethesda has announced the Fallout 76 Wastelanders update finally has a release date.

According to Bethesda, the Fallout 76 Wastelanders update will be arriving on April 7 on all systems. As if that wasn't interesting enough, the Fallout 76 Steam version of the game will release on the same day, which is something many PC gamers have been waiting for. Granted, we aren't sure people should still be excited about anything from this game but this update could make things better.

Or just make it a standard Bethesda Fallout game. Either way, fans will be fine if it's better than the current game.

Here's an overview from Bethesda:

  • New Main Quest and Revamped Original Main Quest – Uncover the secrets of West Virginia by playing through an all-new main quest as well as a revamped original main quest line–with friends or solo–starting from the moment you leave Vault 76. New and veteran players alike will take on new missions, explore new locations and fight with (or against) the new faces that have made their long-awaited return to West Virginia.
  • Human NPCs – Befriend or betray new neighbors who have come to rebuild, and experience Appalachia through the eyes of its residents.
  • New Creatures and Gear – Take down newly mutated creatures finding their way to the region and earn the highest tier of weapons and armor.
  • Choices and Reputation – Alter the fates of those you meet with classic dialogue trees. Decisions affect your standing with each faction through an all-new reputation system.

That's a lot of content for a free update and the emphasis on single-player means that this will be something people can play by themselves. Hopefully, this finally gives us a better Fallout game than the current title we have. Most people don't like 76 so this could be the last chance Bethesda has to make amends.

Fallout 76 Wastelanders update is coming out on April 7. The main game is now available on PS4 and Xbox One.
