If you told any diehard Star Wars fan a few years back that Lucasfilm would be bringing back Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen to pick up where they left off in Revenge of the Sith nearly 20 years ago, I'm pretty sure no one would've probably believed you but thanks to Disney+'s expansion of the Star Wars franchise, everything in the galaxy is now virtually possible.
We all know for a fact that the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi show starring the returning prequel trilogy actors has already wrapped filming a few months ago and we're just waiting for Lucasfilm to drop the first content from the project. Well, say no more as the production company finally unveiled our first look at the series in epic fashion.
While we wait for the official trailer to debut during Disney+ Day, new concept art from the series features the hair-raising clash between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader, and by the looks of it, it's already safe to assume that the show's depiction of their rematch is not going to disappoint fans the way A New Hope did. Say what you will about how Disney has handled the Star Wars universe but it can't be denied that the House of Mouse's namesake streaming service is pretty much responsible for bringing in renewed interest to the science-fiction franchise especially after the sequel trilogy failed to meet expectations from fans. The success of The Mandalorian allowed Lucasfilm to further expand its Star Wars content on Disney+ and it's amazing how they were able to turn the tide.
Star Wars' anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi series hits Disney+ in 2022.
