The production of Evil Season 4 has come to a halt after a small group of Writer's Guild of America (WGA) picketers protested outside the set, resulting in the shutdown of filming.

The series, which premiered on CBS in September 2019 and moved exclusively to Paramount+ for Season 2 onwards, was in the middle of filming when the WGA strike began on May 2.

The WGA strike has caused numerous major film and television productions to shut down.

Protest and Shutdown of Evil Season 4 Production

Warren Leight and Starlee Kine confirmed on Twitter that filming for Evil Season 4 was shut down early in the morning on Friday after a small group of picketers protested outside the set for six hours.

Despite the studio and producers' efforts to outlast the protest, the crew was ultimately sent home, and filming was halted. Kine shared that the producers were angry about the shutdown, a sentiment echoed by other major studios and producers.

Disney, HBO, CBS, and other studios have sent letters to showrunners and producers who are members of the WGA, demanding that they return to their non-writing duties. HBO even threatened that WGA showrunners and producers were required to continue their duties, or they would "not be obliged to continue [their] salary."

Until a settlement is reached between the WGA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), more current and upcoming productions are likely to be put on hold indefinitely.

Implications for Evil Season 4

As negotiations between the WGA and the AMPTP are still in the early stages and protests continue, it may be a while before viewers see Evil Season 4 released unless CBS moves forward without showrunners on set.

With production on hold, fans of the popular show may have to wait longer than expected to see the continuation of the storyline.

It remains to be seen how long the WGA strike will continue and its impact on the entertainment industry. Fans of Evil will have to wait and see if and when the show will resume production and be released.
