Fresh off their monumental win at the 95th Academy Awards, the directing duo responsible for the award-winning Everything Everywhere All at Once, Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert have reportedly landed a spot in the Star Wars franchise. In fact, the Daniels have been recruited for an upcoming Disney+ project which is set to come out this year.

According to a scoop from One Take News (OTN), Kwan and Scheinert will be directing at least one episode of Skeleton Crew, a series that will help expand the MandoVerse along with the standalone Ahsoka series. The outlet reports that although Lucasfilm declined to comment on the duo's involvement in the series, multiple sources have told them that they're in fact part of the show led by Jude Law.

As it stands, the show is still in the midst of production and while key details about it have remained scarce, Skeleton Crew is being described as "Stranger Things in space".

Showrunner Jon Watts of Spider-Man fame previously stated that while the show features children as its main protagonists, Skeleton Crew isn't exactly a kids' show. Hopefully, we'll get to learn more about it at this year's Star Wars Celebration.

Of course, it's no longer surprising how the unprecedented success of Everything Everywhere All at Once has opened a lot of doors for Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. And we're pretty sure this isn't the last time we'll hear of them. Their inclusion in the project just made the show must-see and we're already excited about it.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is expected to hit Disney+ later this year.
