Zendaya has shared her hopes for Euphoria Season 3, giving fans a glimpse into what to expect from her character, Rue.

Along with her Euphoria co-stars Sydney Sweeney, Maude Apatow, and Hunter Schafer, Zendaya spoke at a special screening of the episode, titled Stand Still Like the Hummingbird, and discussed her hopes for the third season of the HBO series.

The two-time Emmy winner opened up about how Sam Levinson, the show's creator, experienced his own struggles with addiction and how Rue's journey has had a strong influence on many fans.

"I know that she can do it because Sam wrote it, and Sam is Rue, and he's done it. He's proof that there is hope for Rue and anyone like Rue, and from the beautiful letters and people who have reached out — I am so grateful for those experiences when somebody comes up to me, and they speak about Rue and how they've connected to her or whatever part of their healing journey she has been able to be a part of," Zendaya shared, via THR.

Zendaya closes by expressing her wishes for her character's happiness in future episodes:

"I just hope for a little bit of joy and for her just be able to breathe and love without the fear of losing. I mean she's gonna have to go through some things, yes, but you know, we'll get there."

What to Expect From Euphoria Season 3

Rue Bennett, Zendaya's character in the blockbuster HBO teen drama, has been through a lot. This is likely most visible in Euphoria Season 2 Episode 5, which many believe to be the series' high point, as it depicts Rue attempting to flee what she perceives to be a horrible intervention from her friends and family.

Based on the Euphoria season 2 finale, viewers should expect some fallout from the (presumably) death of Ashtray. There's also the unsolved drama between Cassie and Maddy, as well as Cassie and Nate's stormy relationship. However, there is no assurance that the series will address these specific story threads; a time jump is possible.

The cast and crew have stated that Euphoria Season 3 filming will start as soon as 2023, most likely in the first few months of the year.

The cast has discussed some of the things they would like to see, despite remaining mum about where Euphoria will head next. Zendaya has expressed her desire for the characters in Euphoria to graduate from high school. She added that she aspires to take the reins of directing an episode.

Fans should have a lot to look forward to as production picks up in the upcoming months, even though details are still scarce.

The ensemble's future after Euphoria Season 3 is unknown, but they have become the most popular young performers in Hollywood at the moment, with many of them already beginning to join other big projects.
