The season premiere left little to the imagination, so it's safe to assume Euphoria Season 2 Episode 2 will do the same.

Episode 1 of the show, like previous episodes, provided a comprehensive backstory to one of the key characters, this time Fez (played by Angus Cloud)—the local drug dealer who frequently hangs out with Rue (and attends the high school parties). We learn more about his upbringing, as well as his grandma and Ashtray. Fez's episode was inescapable after his crazy Season 1 finale, in which he violently robbed a man in order to pay his drug supplier.

A Brief Recap of Euphoria Season 1

Of course, Fez's past is interlaced with the drama happening at a New Year's Eve party in the present. The characters also have a lot of unsolved conflicts after the explosive Season 1 finale.

The wicked football player Nate (played by Jacob Elordi), who has schemed his way into being the show's Most Hated Character, is at the center of many of the disputes. And it appears that he still intends to sow mayhem among his classmates and buddies in the opening episode of Season 2. He antagonized his pal McKay by making out with his ex-girlfriend Maddy's best friend, Cassie. Who keeps asking him to all these parties if all he wants to do is ruin people's lives?

So it's not unexpected that Fez decided to ring in the New Year by knocking Nate out. Even so, it's been two years since the previous Euphoria episode, so it's easy to forget about all the drama.

What to Expect in Euphoria Season 2 Episode 2

There was a lot set up at the end of Episode 1, and the preview for what's to come hints that things will only become darker and more dramatic from here.

Is it possible for the show to recapture the enchantment of the first season? That remains to be seen, but the first hour shows that Euphoria is not afraid to take some of these storylines in a rather gory route if necessary. It examines the negative aspects of being a teenager, as well as the temptations that are thrown at you.

It's worth noting that Euphoria Season 2 Episode 2 is titled Out of Touch. We like to think it's a remark about a character who doesn't see the forest for the trees in the story. We can think of a handful of adults in the world who would fit the bill.

Catch Euphoria Season 2 Episode 2 on Jan. 16.
