Given that they are, kind of, stuck together for all eternity, it must have been settled already. With their debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe nearing, here is a list of the most powerful Eternals we might be seeing in the film.
Top 10 Most Powerful Eternal: Sprite
An Eternal trapped in the body of an eleven-year-old child, Sprite is known for being bitter with his appearance. Just like the other Eternals, Sprite has immortality, strength, speed, and flight. More than that, Sprite also has the ability to shape matter and can create illusions so deceiving, even another Eternal would believe it.
Beneath his young façade, Sprite's illusions, reinforced by another Eternal, Tiamut, in the Uni-Mind, can alter reality in total making Sprite one of the most powerful and sealing the 10th spot. Sprite is gender-swapped in the film and she will be played by Lia McHugh.
Top 9 Most Powerful Eternal: Druig
An aloof loner, Druig works on his own pretty well that he even became a member of the KGB. He is the cousin of Ikaris and he shares the same ability of speed, strength, flight, and teleportation. Other than that, Druig is known for his telepathy and matter transmutation which could prove devastating.
He is called "The Manipulator," also known as the "Druig of Nightmares," and he wields a flame that could hurt even invulnerable Eternals making him ninth on the list. He will be played by Barry Keoghan in the film.
Top 8 Most Powerful Eternal: Gilgamesh
Also known as the Forgotten One, Gilgamesh was imprisoned by Zuras because he became too fond of humans for too long. He's known by the names he went by like Atlas, Beowulf, and Hercules, and as those names imply, Gilgamesh is the strongest among all the Eternals on Earth physically that he can lift double, even triple compared to others. The best fights in hand-to-hand combat.
Gilgamesh is also known as the most durable, he is immune to diseases and bodily harm. He has a regenerative healing factor as well which helps him stay young despite being thousands of years old. He would be portrayed by Train to Busan actor Dong-seok Ma, or Don Lee for short.
Top 7 Most Powerful Eternal: Sersi
A fourth-generation Eternal, Sersi, "The Maker" is one beautiful and powerful Eternal who can manipulate atoms and molecules aside from the common Eternal abilities of strength, speed, and flight. Sersi is fifth-level adept in such manipulation and is the only Eternal to ever reach such mastery making her resistant to toxins, heat, energy, radiation, electricity, and even cold.
She is likened to the mythological character Circe. Indestructible, invulnerable, and near-immortal, she also has telepathy and could swing weak minds to her will. She is said to be the lead character in the film portrayed by two-time Marvel actress, Gemma Chan, who also played the role of Minn-Erva in Captain Marvel.
Top 6 Most Powerful Eternal: Makkari
The fastest among all Eternals, Makkari is likened to Mercury, and the speed he has is at unprecedented levels. Yes, Makkari also has other abilities like other Eternals but speed is his cup of tea. Because of this, Makkari has a force field around his skin for protection which could give him fast healing, flight, limited telepathy, and underwater breathing. His powers can even cause cyclones.
Makkari, "The Teller," could communicate with an asleep Celestial which could result in a global cataclysm. Lauren Ridloff plays the character in a gender-swapped role and opens diversity and representation in the MCU being the first deaf superhero of Marvel.
Top 5 Most Powerful Eternal: Thena
A second-generation Eternal, Thena is the daughter of the OG Prime Eternal, Zuras, a first-gen Eternal. "The Defender" possesses the usual Eternal ability of strength, speed, flight, and teleportation. Other than that, she can manipulate cosmic energy which results in her immortality and invulnerability. She shoots cosmic energy through her eyes and hands to her will of whatever form of energy.
She was the second Prime Eternal after the demise of her father, only to bow down to Ikaris and transfer the leadership to him. She can also manipulate matter and cast illusions to her will as well as sway the perception of humans. She is powerful enough to initiate the Uni-Mind. She's also one intelligent Eternal and she'll be played by Hollywood beauty Angelina Jolie.
Top 4 Most Powerful Eternal: Ikaris
Currently, the leader of the Eternals after successfully challenging Thena, the Prime Eternal Ikaris has been called the "all-powerful" with his abilities heightened by the title he possesses. He is a third-generation Eternal whose flight is unprecedented and he can make others levitate as well, he is likened to the mythological character Icarus, hence, his name. He is also called "The Maker."
Richard Madden brings Ikaris' character to life. He has fast healing abilities helping him stay his age and near-immortal. He possesses a continuous force field around his skin and he is also a stronger telepath than others that he managed to sway the thinking of other Eternals. He shoots energy beams, most iconic is through his eyes.
Top 3 Most Powerful Eternal: Ajak
"The Knower" of the Eternals, Ajak is a Trojan War veteran whose strength is comparable to Thor. He understands and speaks the language of the Celestials making him able to communicate with them. Considered as one of the greatest warriors to ever exist, AJak can shoot heat and light through optical rays.
Ajak was worshipped as a god by Incans and was given the name Tecumotzin where he was buried in a deep sleep in a tomb only to be awoken by Ikaris. Another gender-swapped character in the MCU, Ajak will be portrayed by Hollywood bombshell Salma Hayek.
Top 2 Most Powerful Eternal: Thanos
Don't be surprised if you see his name here as Thanos is an Eternal, a third-generation one born and raised in Titan by the brother of the first Prime Eternal, A'lars. It was given away by Red Skull that the Mad Titan is an Eternal when he was called the son of A'lars, the head Eternal of Titan. His mother was also an Eternal, Sui-San.
We've all seen Josh Brolin wreak havoc in the MCU in the Infinity Saga and the Avengers could only defeat him when together, maybe except for Wanda who almost single-handedly brought Thanos to his knees twice, but we saw how strong, powerful, and intellectual Thanos is. He is the only known Eternal who has the Deviant Syndrome which explains his purplish skin and huge physical shape.
Thanos only died as he was snapped at Tony's expense. He is that strong and invulnerable that all the Avengers had an effort and he mockingly tells Stark, "all that for a drop of blood."
Top 1 Most Powerful Eternal: Kronos
First of all, Kronos was the father of Zuras and A'lars. He is a first-generation Eternal who ruled the Eternals with his brother. He is superior to all with his cosmic awareness and telepathy. He is everywhere and is one with the universe. He can even control time. However, his physical body was destroyed in a failed experiment with cosmic energy where he got nebulized.
Whether or not we'll be seeing him in the film is still in question but knowing he is a real powerful Eternal, he would surely be mentioned at one point. His astral form promises amplified cosmic powers so he may be there but we just can't see him.
Eternals would debut in the MCU in a theatrical release on November 5, 2021.
