In the most recent issue of Total Film, the British actor revealed it was important for the movie to get things right.
"It's important to make sure the tone of things is not lost in the potential excitement of franchises and universes,” he continued. "Sherlock enjoys it enormously, much as it frustrates him and he's scuppered by trying to work out who on Earth it is.”
Cavill also talked about his role in helping to solve the movies’ mysteries.
"I think part of him enjoys actually being genuinely challenged,” he added. “It isn't boring. He's on the back foot and against the ropes."
Aside from Cavill and Brown, Helena Bonham Carter, Louis Partridge, Susie Wokama, and Adeel Akhtar will also return to Enola Holmes 2 to reprise their role as Eudoria Holmes, Tewkesburry, Edith, and Lestrade, respectively.
There will also be new faces, like David Thewlis and Sharon Duncan-Brewster.
Sherlock’s Role in Enola Holmes 2
According to Screenrant, Sherlock will have more screen time in Enola Holmes 2, which may play a big role in Cavill’s decision to return to the movie series.
He seems to be the focus of the sequel movie’s first-look footage, hinting at the prominent character’s expanded role.

The movie’s trailer also highlights the character, revealing that the two Holmes siblings will work together to solve a new case when their separate investigations overlap.
Enola Holmes 2 Official Synopsis, Release Date
After two years, fans are about to see the continuation of the Holmes family’s adventure in Enola Holmes 2.
The official synopsis reads,
