Elon Musk graces Time magazine's cover for Person of the Year for 2021. The CEO of SpaceX and Tesla has made numerous achievements on Earth and in space, enabling him to win the coveted title.

Elon Musk Is Time's Person Of The Year For 2021

Elon Musk is the richest man on Earth with a net worth of $297 billion. Aside from that, he made a new achievement, being named Time Magazine's 2021 Person of the Year.

The 50-year-old billionaire has sold his properties and does not own a house. However, he has sent satellites into orbit and harnesses the sun. He drives a car that he created without gas and barely needs a driver. He has it all.

The magazine described Musk as a "clown, genius, edgelord, visionary, industrialist, showman." He is also a "madcap hybrid of Thomas Edison, P.T. Barnum, Andrew Carnegie and Watchmen’s Doctor Manhattan, the brooding, blue-skinned man-god who invents electric cars and moves to Mars."

Musk is an ambitious man who endured being mocked as a crazy con artist when he was on the verge of going broke. He survived a brutal childhood and had to live with Asperger's syndrome. He overcame everything because he has ambition.

"He was raised in a tough environment and born with a very special brain,” Antonio Gracias, Musk’s close friend of two decades, told the outlet.

"Ninety-nine-point-nine percent of people in that situation don’t come out of it. Some small percentage come out of it with the ability he has to make great decisions under extraordinary pressure and the never-ending drive to change the course of humanity."

Tesla's board chair Robyn Denholm praised Musk's influence on social media. According to him, they do not spend money on advertising because Musk has the "ability to communicate with a very wide range of people globally through social media," adding that the Tesla CEO has been a huge asset to the company "by and large."

However, not everyone is impressed with Musk. Robert Zubrin, founder of the Mars Society, who met Musk in 2001, when the latter sent the organization a large unsolicited check said, he is "humanist," but he is not a nice person.

"He wants eternal glory for doing great deeds, and he is an asset to the human race because he defines a great deed as something great for humanity," Zubrin said. "He is greedy for glory. Money to him is a means, not an end. Who today evaluates Thomas Edison on the basis of which of his inventions turned a profit?"

Despite his criticisms, Zubrin didn't bet against his old pal acknowledging that the latter was wise in a particular subject.

"Genius is a word that is frequently associated with Musk; wisdom is not," he said. "But there is one sense in which Musk, in my view, is very wise, which is that he understands that he doesn’t have forever."

Twitter React To Elon Musk Being Named Time Magazine's Person Of The Year

Twitter users have mixed opinions after Time magazine revealed that Elon Musk is its Person of the Year. Many agreed, while some disagreed. Here are some of the feedback on Twitter.

"Finally, a real revolutionary person on that cover," one commented.

"Love this and he should be. He’s changing our world for the better," another added.

"Well deserved. He’s going to be one of the most influential humans of all time when it’s all said and done," a third supporter wrote.

Meanwhile, some couldn't believe Time magazine's choice.

"Is this a joke?" one asked.

"It's not April's fools tho? This is a joke, right? Say it's a joke, please," another added.

"You have millions of followers so I hope you won’t mind that I have unfollowed you until you are serious again," Rachel Vindman, co-host at The Suburban Women Problem, commented.
