Ellen DeGeneres is in talks to produce same-sex and transgender-themed films for family-friendly Hallmark in a desperate bid to rebuild her toxic image and return to the limelight, a new report claimed.

The former TV host, who was dethroned as the talk show queen after a shocking bullying scandal in 2021, is reportedly not eager to restore her tarnished reputation by working behind the cameras while cranking out “wholesome” projects with wife, Portia de Rossi.
An unnamed insider said:
“Hallmark seems ripe for Ellen and Portia to provide what the company needs, fun and credible LGBT-Themed movies to go with the traditional fare the network is famous for.”
It furthered:
“The thing Ellen and Portia both want to avoid is negative press when they make their next deals, and that’s why TV movies are an especially attractive world for them.”
It was also claimed that Ellen DeGeneres plans a major stand-up comedy special with Netflix. The same tipster went on:
“She is plotting for a comeback on multiple fronts and not worrying about the possibility of blowback – at least not yet.”

Amid all the chaos in her career and personal life, Ellen DeGeneres received a surprise earlier this month when Portia de Rossi revealed that a party celebrating the latter’s 50th birthday was also a vow renewal ceremony. The sweet moment saw the former actress approach the veteran tv talk show host in a bridal gown in the presence of party guests.
Portia de Rossi then led a seemingly shocked Ellen DeGeneres to a spot in front of the audience as singer Brandi Carlile serenaded them with a guitar in hand. Kris Jenner came up to officiate the proceedings.
The Arrested Development actress took center stage and told Ellen DeGeneres:
“When I was thinking about what would make my birthday really special, apart from being with family and friends, it was reminding you that you are the most important thing in the world to me.”
Portia de Rossi then added that there was no “greater accomplishment” for her than being loved by Ellen DeGeneres. The former host then told her wife that “you save me every day. I’m the lucky one.”
