Echo Officially Comes to Overwatch Next Week

Echo was officially announced for Overwatch last month, and with the Coronavirus delaying everything, it was safe to assume that Echo's arrival to the game would be delayed. What's interesting is, she comes out next week, and we have an official release date.

According to @PlayOverwatch on Twitter, Echo arrives on April 14. Here's the post:

Echo had been a hero teased to us back in 2018, but despite being introduced around the same time as Ashe, we got Baptiste and Sigma coming to the game instead. No doubt, there has been a lot of hype when it comes to Echo, so it's great that she's finally coming to the game next week.

Interestingly, Echo's big ability is that she has the power to duplicate other characters in the game. Her ultimate will let her copy a member of the enemy team, and while she's copied the character, she can build up to an ultimate six times faster. It's also worth noting that Echo can't die while she's performing her ultimate.

As of now, it looks like Echo could be the last hero coming to the game this year as Blizzard is going to start focusing work on Overwatch 2. Then again, it's possible that we could get one more hero coming to the game, seeing that Overwatch has a pattern of releasing two new heroes a year. Of course, this is just speculation on my part.

Echo becomes playable on April 14. Overwatch is now available for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
