Dwayne Johnson Officially Welcomes Henry Cavill Back to the DCEU

Leading up to the release of Black Adam, there have been rumors that Henry Cavill's Superman will make his highly-anticipated return in the film. His appearance was seemingly confirmed by reports coming out from the early screenings and, now, Black Adam himself has chimed in and shared what he has to say about the Man of Steel's return to the DCEU.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight during the Black Adam premiere event, Dwayne Johnson was asked about the rumors that Cavill will make an appearance in the film. Not only he confirmed his appearance, but he also welcomed him back to the franchise after years of absence.

"Well, here's what I can tell you. I can tell you that the whole goal and initiative of Black Adam was to build out the DC Universe by introducing not only Black Adam, but the entire JSA, and also, as I have been saying all along, there's an ethos that we at Seven Bucks [Productions] have and that is, we always put the fans first," Johnson said.

"So, for years, audiences have been so passionate and vocal about... we've established Black Adam as the most powerful and unstoppable force on our planet. But the fans have been so passionate about 'Where is the most unstoppable force in the universe? Where is he?' Well, we've all been fighting for this moment, so I will say this: Welcome home."

It looks like we can now put the speculation to rest since Johnson has confirmed Cavill's appearance in the upcoming film which is what fans have been waiting for years since he has been absent from the franchise for a significant amount of time (not counting Zack Snyder's Justice League which was shot years back).

Obviously, the question now is how Cavill's return will play into the future of the DCEU moving forward besides the long-gestated fight between Black Adam and Superman, which Johnson also confirmed to be in the works. Either way, it's just exciting to hear that the Man of Steel is officially back in the DCEU.
