Dr. Stone Creator Shares Hopeful Message After Manga's Final Chapter

There is little doubt that fans are still overwhelmed after Dr. Stone concluded with its 231st chapter. After all, it has been a long and amazing run for the manga and the ending was truly a fitting one. So how does Riichiro Inagaki feel about the story finally coming to an end? The creator shared an awesome and hopeful message for fans!

Riichiro Inagaki decided to reach out to fans on his Twitter account. His message points out how the manga started and how it concluded and he leaves a little tease about Dr. Stone's future.

"With the jump released today, Dr. STONE will reach the final story!!! Just 5 years. The story that started with the 14th issue ends with the 14th issue. Thank you for your patronage and support for 5 years !! And ... it's not over yet. It's just going to continue!!!" Inagaki wrote.

Dr. Stone was first launched on Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump in March 2017 and interestingly, Chapter 231 is featured in the publication's 14th issue in the same month five years later. It's a truly fitting ending for the manga and a great way to hype up the anime's return.

Although the manga is now over, Dr. Stone is still expected to get a third season in 2023. In addition to that, a television special titled Dr. Stone: Ryusui is set to premiere in July this year.

Dr. Stone follows teenage scientific genius Senku Ishigami as he tried to rebuild civilization after humanity was mysteriously petrified for 3,700 years. Along the way, he is helped by his friend Taiju Oki and they revive Tsukasa Shishio as well as their classmate Yuzuriha Ogawa.

The third season of Dr. Stone has not yet been given an official release date but is expected to premiere sometime in 2023. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
