Don Lemon’s Career

During his early days as a journalist, the 57-year-old anchored weekend news programs on local TV channels in Alabama and Pennsylvania.

From there, he started working as a news correspondent for NBC on the shows Today and NBC Nightly News.

Come 2006, he joined CNN as a correspondent and achieved greater success as he became the presenter of Don Lemon Tonight. The latter show ran from 2014 to 2022.

His most recent appearances were as a co-host on CNN This Morning with Kaitlan Collins and Poppy Harlow. Sadly, he was fired from CNN this year.

Lemon graced the red carpet of the 2023 TIME100 Gala in New York City and revealed his next plan after being fired from CNN.

“I’m going to have the summer of a 12-year-old,” he said via Time.

He would sit on the beach with his husband, Tim Malone, and have “a great summer.”

Recently, Lemon hired the renowned Hollywood lawyer Bryan Freedman to represent him amid his CNN termination.

The journalist faced backlash in February after his comments about women and aging were interpreted as sexist.

During an episode of CNN This Morning, his female co-anchors, Harlow and Collin, said the Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley, 51, wasn’t in her prime anymore, adding, “Sorry.”

“A woman is considered to be in her prime in her 20s and 30s and maybe 40s,” Lemon chimed in. “I’m just saying what the facts are — Google it.”

Lemon was accused of misogyny due to his comments and later apologized, stressing, “The people I’m closest to in this organization are women.”

Neither Lemon nor CNN announced the real reason behind their parting ways.
