Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness will Reportedly Feature Deadpool’s Debut in the MCU

When Marvel Cinematic Universe explored the Multiverse, it became an opportunity to introduce new characters to the MCU. Rumors are circulating online that in Marvel’s Multiverse of Madness, we might see characters like Reed Richards, Professor X, and even other variants of superheroes like Tom Cruise as Iron-Man in another dimension. But the fan-favorite, Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) is also rumored to have a cameo in the film.

Deadpool is a standalone movie starred by Ryan Reynolds and the rights for the franchise was owned by 20th Century Fox. This caused Deadpool's interaction very limited only to heroes owned by the company. However, in 2019, Disney officially bought 20th Century Fox, and the rights for Deadpool were officially handed to Disney.

Now, how else can a fan-favorite make his debut to the MCU?

We saw what MCU did to Tom Hardy’s Venom: Let there Be Carnage and Tom Holland’s Spiderman No Way Home; giving them really small interactions and teasing the fans for a potential crossover in the future of MCU.

On Fox’s Free Guy promo, starring also Reynolds, we see Deadpool alongside another Marvel Superhero Korg from Thor: Ragnarok. The duo exchanged jokes and from here we see Deadpool finally interacting with other MCU characters.

In the highly anticipated Multiverse of Madness, Deadpool is rumored to have a cameo together with other X-Men comic book characters and other comic book heroes in another dimension.

Kevin Feige also confirmed Deadpool’s future in the MCU:

“It will be rated R and we are working on a script right now, and Ryan’s overseeing a script right now… It will not be [filming] this year. Ryan is a very busy, very successful actor. We’ve got a number of things we’ve already announced that we now have to make, but it’s exciting for it to have begun. Again, a very different type of character in the MCU, and Ryan is a force of nature, which is just awesome to see him bring that character to life.”

According to rumors, the film did some reshoots in November 2021 that added more scenes and characters like Reynolds and John Krasinki’s Reed Richards.

What makes this rumor very interesting, is that if you google the film’s cast; Ryan Reynolds is one of them. This totally makes sense with Disney now having the rights for the Deadpool franchise. So we will see him for sure.

Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness will be in theaters on May 6, 2022.
