Doctor Strange 2 Writer Shares Promising Update on Kevin Feige's Star Wars Movie

A few years ago, we learned that Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige is producing a new and original Star Wars movie. However, since then, we haven't heard updates regarding the project which made a lot of fans wonder if it is still happening. Now, fortunately, we have a new update regarding the potential film.

In a recent interview with Variety, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness writer Michael Waldron, who is also writing Feige's Star Wars project, shared some updates regarding the development of the potential new film in the franchise which he assured that he is still working on it.

"We're finally into it in earnest," he said. "I mean, I'm writing away. It's a lot of fun. I'm enjoying having the freedom on that to do something that's not necessarily a sequel or anything. It maybe has a little bit less of a — it just doesn't have a bunch of TV shows and movies that you're servicing on top of it, the way I did with Doctor Strange. So it's nice. It feels like a different exercise."

It is great to hear that the project is still alive as we haven't heard many updates regarding any of the Star Wars film projects after Patty Jenkins' Rogue Squadron was put on hold by Lucasfilm late last year (although it is still scheduled for release next year). While this information may not be enough, at least it's an assurance that Feige's potential venture to the galaxy far, far away is still in the development process.

It would be interesting to see if Lucasfilm will make an official announcement regarding this project at the upcoming Star Wars Celebration event where they are expected to make several announcements regarding the future of the franchise. Hopefully, we will hear more information very soon.
