Since the conclusion of the sequel trilogy, the Star Wars franchise has consistently been killing it on streaming platforms and their gaming universe is no different. As it stands, games like Star Wars: Eclipse, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and the Knights of the Old Republic remake are just some of the titles fans should be on the lookout for in the next couple of years.

A few of those games have experienced several delays and it only goes to show how development for them isn't as uncomplicated as some might think. However, it looks like Disney is truly committed to reinforcing Star Wars' gaming department and according to a new rumor, the House of Mouse is looking to release games more frequently in the near future.

Insider Gaming reports that the House of Mouse has requested Lucasfilm to guarantee that a new Star Wars video game will be released every six months. The outlet notes that Disney "wants one major AAA title and one smaller game per fiscal year", a task that the production company is set to deliver on. As it stands, both Disney and Lucasfilm have yet to release a statement regarding the rumor but it raises a lot of questions.

As ambitious as it is, this rumored plan is also questionable, especially considering how it takes a long time to develop a game, let alone release two per year. It's also worth noting that the House of Mouse has drawn flak for its unpleasant working conditions not only in the gaming department but with their VFX team as well. In the end, of course, the fans will win but I hope this is something both Disney and Lucasfilm are prepared for.

Meanwhile, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is expected to hit stores in March 2023.
