The latest upcoming film of Disney, Cruella, which stars Emma Stone makes a hit within 24 hours of streaming after the official trailer has been released by Walt Disney Studios. The live-action film will be featuring the most notorious and fashionable villain of Disney, Cruella de Vil.

According to Deadline, the trailer reached a whopping 71 million views within 24 hours after its release. Because of this, the trailer of Cruella bests the previous records of the 24-hour trailer views of Maleficent: Mistress of Evil with 61.7 million and the live-action film of Aladdin with 60.8 million.

The trailer of Cruella, however, fell short in taking the most-viewed for the 24-hour trailer views to Disney's Lion King which holds 224 million global views after the 2018 Thanksgiving release, and Mulan's first trailer with 175 million.

Social media was also blown away by the trailer of Cruella which generated 265,000 mentions within 24 hours after the release of the trailer surpassing that of the live-action Aladdin with 228,000 and Beauty and The Beast with 154,000.

After the release of Cruella's trailer, PETA requested via an official statement for Disney and the film of Cruella to promote pet adoption in the promotion of the film. PETA's Senior Vice President Lisa Lange stated that the film should remind viewers that animals are not accessories and that they should be adopted.

Cruella will be set in 1970's London where a young grifter, Estella, determines to make a name for herself in the fashion industry with the creative designs. She becomes friends with two thieves and they venture into a life on the London streets. Estella's eye for fashion was spotted by Baroness von Hellman, a legendary in the fashion industry portrayed by Emma Thompson.

Estella and von Hellman's relationship pushed for a course of events that will cause Estella to fully accept her wicked side and take on the mantle of Cruella, a raucous, fashionable, and revenge-bent version of herself.

Cruella will be directed by ITonya's Craig Gillespie, screenplay by Dana Fox and Tony McNamara, and story by Aline Brosh McKenna and Kelly Marcel & Steve Zissis. The designer behind the stunning costumes of Cruella will be two-time Oscar-winning costume designer Jenny Beavan.

Cruella will be released on May 28, 2021.
