Disney+ will NOT Feature Fox’s Family Guy and American Dad

It was Disney's purchase of Fox that got the Simpsons to be part of the Disney+ streaming service, but it looks like not every Fox property is going to be coming to the family-friendly platform.

Talking to Deadline, Disney CEO Bob Iger was asked on whether more adult-oriented shows like Family Guy and American Dad would be making its way to Disney+, to which he replied with a simple, "No." Fans shouldn't be completely bummed though, because both properties are still available to watch on the Disney-owned Hulu.

While I understand that Disney has a brand image to maintain, I'm kind of bummed that they're keeping everything PG when it comes to Disney+. This should prove as some kind of obstacle to Marvel Studios when it comes to being more experimental with their shows. A lot of huge miniseries are coming to their platform, but it's this rule to stick to the PG-rating that is likely going to stop us from getting reboots of more adult-oriented properties like Daredevil or The Punisher.

If anything, those properties can come to Hulu, but will they even have the same amount of priority and quality when compared to the kid-friendly shows coming to Disney+? What happens when Deadpool joins the MCU?

For now, I just like to think that Disney is still working out the kinks for Disney+. Surely they have to keep some more adult-oriented properties somehow, and it's likely fans will be vocal about what they want once the platform goes live.

Disney+ launches on Nov. 12.
