It's Halloween season. While most Hollywood celebrities have been having a good time celebrating the holiday by sharing photos of their Halloween costumes online, Disney star Bella Thorne has been receiving flack over her Halloween costume concept.
Taking to Instagram, the Shake It Up Disney actress posted an image of her Halloween costume concept. Thorne put makeup on her face to mimic the look of someone who's recently been at the bad end of a fight. Though the makeup seems pretty realistic, netizens don't seem to be too pleased by Thorne's look. Some have interpreted the image as a heartwrenching confession of abuse. Others have been expressing outrage at how the look seems to glamorize the physical abuse of women.

While some might not understand the fuss over Thorne's post, we can see how the image would cause such an uproar. Physical abuse is a disturbing issue that some have to face. Not only does it inflict physical wounds on the victim, but it also traumatizes them as well. Abuse isn't something that one should glamorize.
Thorne would have probably been better off with make-up that's traditionally Halloween-esque.
However, if the Disney actress' makeup is really a cry for help, then we hope that she finds the courage to come out with her story and to cut ties with whoever is abusing her.
