Disney Planning to Reboot Home Alone, Night at the Museum, and More

After Disney managed to acquire 20th Century Fox, it looks like the studio is ready to remake more than just their own classic movies. During an investors call, Disney CEO Bob Iger has confirmed that there are plans to reboot several Fox films for the new generation.

Iger has confirmed (via Empire), that Disney is planning on rebooting Home Alone, Cheaper By the Dozen, Night at the Museum, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid for their streaming service Disney+. It's unclear whether these will be turned into animated films or series, but you can imagine the backlash online when it comes to remaking these classics.

If anything, I think all the films actually hold up today, but I guess they can update on Night at the Museum. If you ask me, the only good film in that franchise is the first one, but I still managed to enjoy some parts of the second and third movies. It's worth noting that Night at the Museum and Cheaper by the Dozen director Shawn Levy is producing one of the most beloved shows today—Stranger Things.

We don't have any specifics yet on what Disney is planning to do with these Fox properties, but I was kind of just hoping that they screened them on the service without having to remake them. I'm sure kids today will find something to enjoy even if the films don't have phones or updated meme terminologies.

No release date has been set for these remakes, but Disney+ is set to launch on Nov. 12.
