Disney is Going to Let Disney+ Subscribers Keep Downloaded Movies Even After Leaving Service

It looks like Disney's added a few perks to subscribing to Disney+. Not only is the Mickey Mouse House preparing a plethora of new Star Wars and Marvel content for its upcoming streaming site, but it's also adding a great feature that allows subscribers to continue watching downloaded movies from Disney+.

While Disney's servers offer a smorgasbord of films, series, and documentaries for subscribers to go through, Disney+ won't be able to hold everything all at once, and some titles will have to leave the site for pockets of time here and there. This practice happens in all streaming sites – content comes and goes in places like Netflix too.

The good news is that while subscribers won't be able to stream films that have been taken out of Disney+, the Mickey Mouse House will allow users to continue watching the films if they've downloaded them to a device before the movie/ series/ documentary leaves the platform.

"But by and large, almost all of it is there, and if you're a subscriber, you can download it and put it on a device, and it will stay on the device as long as you continue to subscribe," Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed during the Vanity Fair New Establishment Summit (via CNET).

This is a pretty great feature that helps keep Disney classics alive. Fans can now keep films that they've downloaded to watch over and over again even after they leave Disney+. It gives potential Disney+ users even more reason to subscribe to the upcoming streaming site.
