Disney+ is Already Available in the Netherlands

A lot of people are eagerly awaiting the launch of Disney+ on Nov. 12, but news has it that the streaming service is already available for free—in the Netherlands.

According to The Verge, a pilot version of Disney+ has gone live in the Netherlands, and it will be available until launch on Nov. 12 when it will go for €6.99. The version released there has far from a complete library, and has been described as "empty but elegant." It's also been said that there are no bugs so far, so at least the test must be going good.

If there was any gripe though, it's said that the service doesn't automatically list which films are available on 4K; users will have to click into a movie's page before finding out that UHD is available for a film or series.

What's also interesting is that the service currently has 18 Marvel titles on it, as opposed to the official launch which is said only to include Captain Marvel, Thor: The Dark World, Iron Man, and Iron Man 3. The Dutch pilot currently has all Marvel movies on it save for Captain Marvel, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Avengers: Endgame which is set to release in December.

As for Star Wars, the entire Skywalker saga is said to be available (save for The Rise of Skywalker), as well as the anthology films like Rogue One and Solo. Series like The Clone Wars and Rebels are also listed, plus some LEGO shorts. The Mandalorian is not up yet, and will likely come out during the official launch.

So far, everything looks good, and I'm hoping that these trial runs will find their way around the international market. If anything, I'm expecting Disney+ to be free for a month for every user, and the money should start coming in December when trials start to expire.

Catch Disney+ when it launches officially on Nov. 12.
