Kate Middleton Inspired Meghan Markle's Go-To Designer's Latest Collection
The Princess of Wales and Duchess of Sussex are often pitted against each other because both have a great fashion sense and are close in age. However, Markle's friend and favorite London-based French fashion designer seemingly chose Middleton over her in his latest collection.
Mouret has been described as Markle's go-to designer. The pair have also established a close bond because Markle loves to wear his designs.
In his recent interview with the Sunday Times, the fashion designer uttered praises for the future queen consort because of how she represents women.
"She represents the way a woman grows, the way a woman stands not behind but beside," Mouret said, Express reported. "That sense of equality she has created — she's powerful."
Mouret has also dressed the royal mom of there several times already. He was the one who designed Middleton's £2,700 black-and-white dress at the Top Gun Maverick premiere in London.
Mouret kept the Duchess of Cambridge in mind when he worked on his latest collection, which will come out in Spring 2023. He even named a new orange short-sleeved dress after Prince William's wife, calling it "Kate's dress."
"To make things that she feels protected in at that moment when the world is looking at her, I've done a little part in protecting her," he said.
Did Meghan Markle's Designer Friend Shade Her?
While Mouret spoke about Kate Middleton representing the woman's position — beside their husband — some remembered Markle's position whenever she is with Prince Harry. Many noticed that she is front and center in most cases.
Body language expert Enrique Rosas analyzed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's pictures. According to him, Markle will either stand in front of Prince Harry or close to the camera.
"I can tell you a couple of things… for some reason, Meghan decided to stand in front of Harry here. You can see that she is almost covering Harry, and Harry, well, he was the speaker," Rosas said in one of their photos, Express reported. "Everyone else in the photo either spoke or was acting in an official UN capacity. Nobody else has their spouse."
He continued, "She [Meghan] is positioned closer to the camera than anyone else - you can't unsee it now. Meghan has this history, this track record of wanting to be in the spotlight."

He added that Prince Harry looked "a bit uncomfortable" and "tense" in some pictures. Meanwhile, another body language said Prince Harry was freely giving his wife the spotlight.
Earlier this month, their photographer pal Misan Harriman dropped two photos of them from One Young World Summit. In one picture, Markle stands in front of her husband.
Katia Loisel, a body language expert, media spokesperson, trainer, speaker and author, said the photo sent "Meghan's moment" vibes.
Prince Harry played a more "supportive role," the expert added. But the Duke of Sussex's gesture reportedly showed "both support and sense of pride" for his wife.
It's unclear if Mouret's statement has something to do with Markle. So one should take the rumors about him shading the Duchess of Sussex with a grain of salt.
