After inspiring an actual train ride, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train revealed a real-life escape room game made in partnership with TOKYO MYSTERY CIRCUS.

The upcoming escape game is entitled Mugen Ressha: Samayou Akumu kara no Dasshutsu (Mugen Train: The Escape from The Wandering Nightmare in English), and it will let players experience what it’s like to be in the Mugen Train during the movie’s events.

Thankfully, players won’t actually be in danger of getting eaten by a Twelve Kizuki demon if they fail in this game.

How the game works is that a group of players will be inside a room designed to look like the interior of the Mugen Train.

In the game’s story, the players are members of the Demon Slayer Corps aboard the Mugen Train, and they fall asleep due to Enmu’s Blood Demon Art.

After waking up, the players will find themselves together with Tanjiro Kamado and the Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku. Together, the players must help Tanjiro and Rengoku defeat the demons and escape the Mugen Train.

Unlike typical escape room games where players are there to mostly solve puzzles, this escape game will give players their own Nichirin swords to fight demons, making for a more immersive experience that should appeal to fans of the movie.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train is an anime movie that serves as a sequel to Demon Slayer Season 1. The movie is based on the manga’s Mugen Train arc, and it was released in Japan back in October 2020.

The movie was a smash hit, earning over USD 500 million worldwide. In Japan, the film was so successful that it became the highest-grossing film of all time in the country.

Given the movie and the series’ popularity, several collaborations have been released recently. Aside from this escape game, there’s the Demon Slayer train in LA designed after the series.

The Demon Slayer: Mugen Train escape room game will be open from October 7, 2022, to January 4, 2023. Each game will be 2 hours long and will have a maximum of six players.

It will take place at the TOKYO MYSTERY CIRCUS Himitsukichi Lab Main Hall in Shinjuku, Tokyo.
