Happy Birthday, Kyojuro Rengoku! The Flame Hashira celebrates his birthday on May 10 and Ufotable has the best way to pay tribute to one of the most beloved characters in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. The studio just dropped an adorable illustration showing Kyojuro with his family!
The official Ufotable Twitter account shared a tribute video featuring some of Kyojuro Rengoku's best moments from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie - Mugen Train. It concludes with the special illustration showing a young Kyojuro getting a wooden sword as a present as his parents Ruka and Shinjuro and little brother Senjuro look on.
It's a heartwarming portrait that recalls happier times for Kyojuro who would later aspire to be the Flame Hashira just like his father. Unfortunately, things changed when Ruka died but Kyojuro persisted and achieved his dream in the end.
There is a good reason why Kyojuro is one of the most beloved characters in Demon Slayer. The Flame Hashira continued to support his father and young brother long after his mother's death. Kyojuro also became an effective mentor to the anime's main trio Tanjiro Kamado, Inosuke Hashibira, and Zenitsu Agatsuma when they boarded the Mugen Train together. He may no longer be in the main storyline but Kyojuro continues to inspire the young swordsmen in their new missions.
But is it possible that Kyojuro will return in Demon Slayer Season 3? Unfortunately, the Flame Hashira's demise makes it impossible. However, fans are hoping that he would reappear in flashback sequences in the third season.
For now, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 3 has not yet been given an official release date. However, the third season is already confirmed to follow the manga's Swordsmith Village arc and introduce two new Hashiras. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
