Deleted Darth Vader Death Star Scene on Rogue One Revealed


Rogue One led to the beginning of the original Star Wars movie. It features new characters and also added some familiar faces. Now, an image of Darth Vader's deleted scene in the film was revealed. The filmmakers also shared context on what it is supposed to be about.

A newly-released image from Rogue One: Star Wars Story showed Darth Vader in a deleted scene. Rogue One was Lucasfilm's first Star Wars spin-off which was released in 2016. The film debuted a band of Freedom Fighters, ready to sacrifice their lives to steal the plans for the Death Star.


Another familiar face in the movie was Darth Vader. Rogue One included one of his iconic scenes in Star Wars with the hallway scene. Aside from this and other appearances in the movie, there was another sequence where Darth Vader was supposed to be involved.

ILM Animation Director Hal Hickel released a still from the scene. Hickel added that in the scene, Vader was supposed to have a conversation with Tarkin. However, he cannot remember what the dialog was about.

Rogue One was a pivotal factor when the Rebellion disarmed the galactic weapon in A New Hope. This is why Rogue One directly connected to the beginning of the original Star Wars movie. Some of the characters featured were Cassian Andor, Jyn Erso, and Orson Krennic.

Some of the familiar faces for the movie was recreated through the CGI, which includes Grand Moff Tarkin. For Princess Leia, a different actress was used, but with the help of VFX, she was made to look like a young version of Carrie Fisher.
