DC's Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman: Real Reason Revealed for Arrowverse Shows Cancellation

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the real reason for the cancellation of the Arrowverse series on The CW is that while the CEO of the network, Mark Pedowitx, wanted more seasons for Batwoman and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, it is Warner Bros. who ended it. Warner Bros. do not want to pay lease on the shows’ studio space and wouldn’t renew after its expiry last May 1.

Many fans were in disbelief after a majority of the Arrowverse series on The CW got canceled but this reason shows a glimmer of a silver lining for the shows that it is not entirely the fault of The CW why these shows would not continue. While it is already a closed door for these shows on The CW, fans are already calling for its renewal on HBO Max.

It would not be the first time that shows would look for another home after being canceled and hope is not entirely lost considering that it is really possible that another streaming service or network would continue a canceled show. Manifest was able to pull this off, after its cancellation from CBS, it found a new home on Netflix where it would air its final season.

It is not impossible for Batwoman and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow to get the same fate. With a lot of fans looking forward to another streaming service to take on the titles, and considering that DC’s home for years has been HBO Max, there is a strong chance for these shows to get a new home.

After all, the reason of Warner Bros. is payment of lease so with HBO Max being their homecourt, they would not have to do what they do with The CW this time.

To date, only The Flash, Superman & Lois, and Stargirl remain on The CW. The Flash is expected to end on the ninth season, Superman & Lois and Stargirl were both given another season but if they would share the same fate as that of Batwoman and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow in the future, hopefully, they could find a new home for streaming.
