DC Fans React to Lady Gaga's Harley Quinn Casting in Joker 2

We've had some pretty interesting comic book film castings over the years but Lady Gaga's potential entry to the DC universe is something we never imagined would actually happen. In case you missed it, according to reports, the pop star and actress is in final talks to play the iconic DC villainess (and sometimes anti-hero), Harley Quinn, in Todd Phillips' Joker sequel opposite Joaquin Phoenix who is already confirmed to reprise his role as the Clown Prince of Crime.

The film, officially titled Joker: Folie à Deux is also said to be a musical which is probably why Gaga was chosen for the part in the first place. But taking nothing away from the multi-time Grammy Award-winning singer, her acting career has also been stellar and it's mainly the reason why fans, for the most part, are excited about her rumored involvement in the long-awaited DC elseworld project.

On Twitter, Gaga's fans and comic book film enthusiasts already gave the 36-year-old star their stamp of approval and it's safe to say at this rate that Gaga is off to a good start. Check out some of the reactions below:

It'll be interesting to see which direction Todd Phillips plans to take the sequel considering it's labeled as a musical. But when you think about it, Joker 2 taking a different creative approach isn't exactly off-brand because the first one is unlike any comic book/superhero film we've seen. I have complete faith that this one will blow all of us away.

Joker: Folie à Deux is currently in development.
