Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) and Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) are Salem's favorite couple on Days of Our Lives. Viewers have been following the epic love story of the repentant villain and the immaculate daughter of Bo and Hope Brady (Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso) since 2018. Fans, however, will be whipping out the tissues as they bid farewell to the power couple.
Days of Our Lives Characters Being Written Off
The duration of Ben and Ciara's appearance on the show was known to the audience. However, losing their favorite duo will leave a significant vacuum. The performers' schedules are the cause of the departure.
Days of Our Lives executive producer Ron Carlivati told Soap Opera Digest that Konefal's recurring role was important to the upcoming plot, according to Soaps in Depth.
“She really was just not available on a regular basis, and in the way our show works and how you have to schedule people, it just became less and less feasible to keep her in that status,” Carlivati explained. “If you’re going to tell a story with a couple, you need these people to be on contract.”
Wilson's contract was still in effect, so the writers weren't sure what to do with Ben and Ciara.
He added: “You want them to have a happy ending, but then that involves writing Rob off the show, who doesn’t necessarily want to leave. Half the couple leaving often doesn’t work.”
Ben & Ciara Leave Salem
Fans of Days of Our Lives have enjoyed following Ben and Ciara's love story. Ciara's presumed death and amnesia were among the numerous difficulties the couple faced in their relationship. The Devil intended to steal their son, baby Bo, earlier this year, which was their biggest fear. Ciara's father, on the other hand, was an angel watching over the family.
Ben and Ciara will be able to relax and spend time with their newborn boy once the Devil has been subdued. However, a remarkable gift from Hope has caused the pair to make a significant shift. Ben and Ciara make the decision to leave Salem and start on an exciting new journey.

Not Gone for Long
Ben and Ciara will appear on the Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem Season 2 premiere on July 11. To see Hope, the pair makes Montreal their first stop on their journey. It will be a glorious reunion for the loving family, with Bo also appearing.
Carlivati claimed that for Ben and Ciara's departure, the timing was ideal.
“We were writing Beyond Salem at the same time, so we decided, ‘Hey, they leave Salem on July 8 and say that they’re going to arrive in Montreal July 11 on their sailboat. So, you can seamlessly follow their story when they leave town.”
