Is it just us, or has this trailer come out of nowhere?! Needless to say, we couldn't be more excited, especially seeing as the game looks like a sequel-of-sorts to Ghostbusters: Afterlife, not only with Ernie Hudson reprising his role as Winston Zeddemore, but also picking up where Ghostbusters: Afterlife's post-credits scene left off, with Winston starting a brand-new Ghostbusters enterprise back in New York City (he really does love this town).

As you can see from the trailer, you'll play as a Ghostbuster, donning the iconic Proton Pack and using other gizmos such as the PKE Meter and the Ghost Trap. The team will consist of four new characters who appear to be working for Winston, who is now the owner of the Ghostbusters franchise. You'll visit haunts old and new across the city, battling an army of the undead and spooks of all shapes and sizes.

As a Ghostbuster, you'll need to capture ghosts using your proton pack, and then trap them in the Ghost Trap, and later deposit them at the Ecto-Containment Unit in the Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters. However, as revealed in the trailer, for the first time ever, you'll also be able to play as one of the ghosts, which is a first for the Ghostbusters video game franchise! You'll be able to fly, pass through solid objects, and even possess some of them.

As for other iconic characters, it's unclear as to whether you'll be playing Winston or not, or even driving the Ecto-1, although the latter is teased in the trailer - a feature that was missing from 2009's near-perfect Ghostbusters: The Video Game.

Like that game, you'll be able to spend some of your time at the Ghostbusters HQ, where you can interact with your teammates, as well as Winston. But he isn't the only returning Ghostbuster - Ray Stantz also appears in the trailer at Ray's Occult Books, as seen in Ghostbusters: Afterlife, with Dan Aykroyd reprising his role, something else that really lends to the likelihood that this game is a sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
