Melanie Griffith adored Dakota Johnson’s longtime boyfriend, Chris Martin, and the actress has not shied away from making her feelings about the Coldplay frontman known. In fact, during her interviews, Griffith has always said that she adores Martin.
In 2018, Melanie Griffith told People that she adores Martin but wants to respect Johnson’s wishes of keeping their relationship private. A year later, she once again told the same publication that she loves Johnson’s boyfriend.
“I love my daughter’s boyfriend. I think that they’re an awesome couple,” she said.

Melanie Griffith Wants Dakota Johnson, Chris Martin To Give Her A Grandchild
Woman’s Day, in its Feb. 7 issue, claimed that Griffith has become so obsessed with Martin to the point that she has been pressuring him and Johnson to have a baby.
“Melanie is champing at the bit to add some babies to the family,” an unnamed source said.
Since Griffith’s two other children, Alexander, 36, and Stella, 25, are both single, she thinks that Johnson is the only one that could give her a grandchild.

However, the unnamed source claimed that Johnson and Martin are not in a rush to settle down.
“Dakota’s still not sure if she wants children of her own. Melania keeps bringing up the subject, and she won’t stop until Dakota changes her mind,” the unnamed source concluded.

Other than the baby rumors, multiple publications have also been urging Johnson and Martin to settle down. After all, they have been together for four years. Just last month, sources claimed that Johnson and Martin were secretly engaged for quite some time, but they decided to call off their wedding.
On another occasion, some publications claimed that Martin’s ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow is the one planning the couple’s wedding because she loves Johnson.

But regardless of what the unnamed sources have been saying, Johnson and Martin have stayed true to their core. After four years of dating, they still make it a point to keep their relationship as private as possible.
“We've been together for quite a while, and we go out sometimes, but we both work so much that it's nice to be at home and be cozy and private. Most of the partying take place inside my house,” the Fifty Shades of Grey star told Elle UK.

But if and when Johnson and Martin do decide to get married, the couple will definitely have a strong support system behind them. After all, Paltrow previously told Harper’s Bazaar how much she likes Johnson for Martin.
“I just adore her. I always start to think of the ampersand sign — what else can you bring in, instead of being resistant to or being made insecure by? There's so much juice in leaning into something like that,” the actress said.
As of late, Johnson and Martin don’t have any plans to tie the knot or have a baby yet. But when they do, they will most likely share the happy news with their fans.
