Ant-Man star Paul Rudd sets the record straight about a popular fan theory about how his Marvel superhero character could have easily killed Thanos. However, he doesn't think the theory will work.

Paul Rudd Addresses Fan Theory About How Ant-Man Could Have Killed Thanos

Rudd spoke with Entertainment Tonight for the 9th annual All-Star Bowling Benefit for SAY: The Stuttering Association for the Young. At the event, he shared his thoughts about the fan theory of Ant-Man climbing up to Thanos' butt to kill the villain.

"I know what you're talking about, a way to kill Thanos," Rudd said when asked about the fan theory. "And that some people consider it a missed opportunity. Well, I guess you'll just have to see the next one."

He also didn't think the approach would work for his nemesis, Kang the Conqueror.

"I don't know if you can take Kang out that way either, Kang's pretty tough, and I gotta assume all parts of him are tough," he added.

There are also rumors that Ant-Man, a.k.a Scott Lang, will meet his demise after seeing the new trailer of "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania." However, the People's Sexiest Man Alive didn't address the speculations but teased that the movie will "be real interesting."

What Marvel Fans Can Expect In Ant-Man 3?

Director Peyton Reed, who helmed Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, teased fans about the film in a tweet Monday. He shared a snap with the words, "FASTEN YOUR SAFETY BELTS, TRUE BELIEVES... 'CAUSE ANT-MAN IS BACK... AND HOW!!"

Reed talked about Ant-Man at San Diego Comic-Con in July. According to him, they were thrilled to do a trilogy, and they wanted to do things differently.

"We really wanted to take a hard left turn and make a movie that was even more epic but still progress the story of these family dynamics and everything that's going on between Scott and Hope and Cassie," he said.

He added that Scott's daughter, Cassie, is already 18, and the protagonist doesn't know how to relate to his child as an adult because they were apart for five years due to the events of Endgame. He also teased about Kang the Conqueror, the big bad in the movie.

"And we also knew that we wanted to put our heroes up against a very, very formidable opponent. I grew up reading the comics and I knew the character of Kang the Conqueror, who's one of the big, big bad characters in the comics, so to be able to put up our heroes against Kang the Conqueror was a huge thing for us. We went big and we also went small," he added.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania stars Evangeline Lilly as Hope, Kathryn Newton as Cassie and Jonathan Major as Kang.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will hit theaters on Feb. 17, 2023.
