Chris Hemsworth and Kevin Feige Address Thor's Future After Love and Thunder

It is safe to say that a lot of MCU fans have been exciting to see Thor: Love and Thunder as it will mark the God of Thunder's next journey after the events of Avengers: Endgame. However, a question has also come up about whether Thor has a future in the MCU after the events of the upcoming film. While we don't know what will happen to the character by the end, a lot of fans are hoping that our favorite hero will still stay for a while.

Speaking recently with Total Film (via GamesRadar), Chris Hemsworth was asked about the possibility of him playing his iconic MCU role after Thor: Love and Thunder to which he said that he is open to returning under the condition that it will be something new.

"Each time, if the opportunity comes up and presents itself, I'm just open to whatever creative exploration can happen, thanks to different writers and directors and so on," Hemsworth said. "But I love playing the character, I really do. It always comes down to: 'Is this script different to the last one? Are we repeating something?' And when it becomes too familiar, I think that's when I'd have to say, 'Yeah, no, this doesn't... I think I've... I'd like to exit before people tell me to exit."

Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige also addresses Thor's future in the MCU after the upcoming film. While he played coy with his comment, he did have a "never say never" mentality and hinted that they still have plans for the character's future.

"I know this: there are many, many other Thor stories in the comics that we talk about a lot," Feige said. "And as we watch Chris Hemsworth continue to grow and evolve as a major acting talent, I would be excited to see how he keeps evolving this complex character."

Obviously, we still don't know if Thor will survive the events of Love and Thunder by the end of the film so the answer still remains unknown. Assuming that he will make it, it looks like there is still a brighter future for him and Hemsworth is game to play the character more which should delight fans who have been loving him since his first film in 2011.
