Chris Evans Gushes Over Ana De Armas Netflix Film Blonde: "Holy S--t! You’re Going to Win an Oscar for This!’”

In just less than one week, the much-awaited film Blonde starring Ana De Armas in the role of 1950s icon Marilyn Monroe will finally arrive on Netflix. Directed by Andrew Dominik, the upcoming psychological drama film was recently screened at the Venice Film Festival and received an impressive 14-minute standing ovation from the audience.

As revealed in the first teasers, De Armas was absolutely spot on in portraying one of the biggest stars in the world, wearing a blonde wig and adopting an American accent. Just when we thought the 14-minute standing ovation at Venice was more than enough to hype up the film, her Knives Out co-star Chris Evans recently offered his beaming thoughts about the film.

In a recent interview with Variety, Marvel's Captain America actor Chris Evans recalls his first reaction after seeing De Armas' camera test for Blonde. Although the film is "incredibly demanding for his Knives Out co-star, he remembers De Armas being extremely ecstatic about the role. Check out his full quote below:

“I think this was one of the first opportunities she had to really sink her teeth into something incredibly demanding. I didn’t see one bit of fear; I saw excitement. I remember looking at [her camera test] and saying, ‘OK, that’s Marilyn … where’s your shot? That’s you? Holy s--t! You’re going to win an Oscar for this!’”

De Armas had already showcased her versatility as an actress in her previous roles in Knives Out and The Gray Man, but it's safe to say that Blonde will not just be her breakthrough film but will also be the most contentious one. The upcoming film received an NC-17 rating due to the controversial rape scene from Joyce Carol Oates' source material that will be carried on in the film in graphic detail.

For now, we'll have to wait for the film to release on Netflix and see for ourselves if Ana De Armas indeed has massive Oscar chances.

Blonde will be streaming on Netflix on September 28.
