Charlie Puth is the second artist to come forward with claims that Ellen DeGeneres’ label ghosted them. Last month, Greyson Chance made similar allegations about the comedian and her former music label. However, the latter also accused DeGeneres of being rude and manipulative.
Charlie Puth Claims Ellen DeGeneres’ Music Label Wasn’t There For Him
During his interview with Rolling Stone Music Now, Charlie Puth stressed that he and Greyson Chance had different experiences with Ellen DeGeneres. But the “Left and Right” singer admitted that Chance was right when he said that no one was there for him.
“We both have different experiences, me versus Greyson. But I do agree with him that no one was present, certainly, after the creation of my first demo EP. Not putting any blame on one person, but on a collective… all the people that were in that room just disappeared. I didn’t hear from anybody,” he said.
Puth also reacted to allegations claiming that DeGeneres is rude to her staff. He said that he had never experienced this from the funny woman.
“People describe Ellen as rude. I’ve never experienced that. Maybe she likes me,” he joked.

Greyson Chance Accused Ellen DeGeneres Of Being Rude, Manipulative
During his interview with Rolling Stone, Chance accused DeGeneres of not being there for him. He also claimed to have heard DeGeneres screaming at her staffers and reprimanding them.
According to Chance, he also faked his appearances on The Ellen Show and refused to give DeGeneres credit for his coming out.
“[When I came out,] I hadn’t spoken to her in years. That’s so messed up, that you’re now showing the world as if we’re so tight, we’re so good. And behind the scenes, you are this insanely manipulative person. When I look at the interviews and I look at my eyes, I can see so much anxiety. I can just see so much PTSD because I’m there holding on for dear life going, ‘I need this TV gig.’ I was 100 percent faking it, and [I felt like] she [was] 100 percent faking it with me, too,” he said.
DeGeneres did not respond to Chance’s allegations. But sources close to Portia de Rossi’s wife questioned the timing of the singer’s interview. After all, it was released after he dropped his new album.
The Ellen Show host did not also respond to Puth’s recent claims.
Ellen DeGeneres Accused Of Being A Mean Girl, Bully
Chance wasn’t the first person to accuse DeGeneres of being rude. Years ago, several individuals came forward and accused the comedian of being mean and a bully.
Toxic work environment allegations were also thrown at DeGeneres, the Ellen Show, and some of the producers. The comedian issued an apology for the toxic work environment allegations, but she did not apologize to those that she allegedly bullied.
“As you may have heard this summer, there were allegations of a toxic work environment at our show. And then there was an investigation. I learned that things happen here that never should have happened. I take that very seriously. And I want to say, I am so sorry to the people who were affected. I know that I’m in a position of privilege and power. And I realized that with that comes responsibility, and I take responsibility for what happens at my show,” she said (via The New York Times).
