Carnival Row Season 2 Comes Back On Amazon Prime Video!
Amazon Prime Video's fantasy show Carnival Row turned out to be one of the streamer's underrated gems. Thankfully, it has been renewed for a second season, and everyone wants to know when the series would arrive on the streaming platform.
Starring Cara Delevingne and Orlando Bloom, the steampunk TV series, Carnival Row, premiered in August 2019 with eight episodes, and it introduced us to a dark Victorian-style dystopian world shattered by war and species division, but based on the ending, it's clear that its epic tale is far from over.
Carnival Row Season 2 Production Update: Is Filming New Episodes Over?
Yes! After the series has been renewed in 2019, fans of the series are expecting that Carnival Row Season 2 would come back soon but with the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic last year, the series faced a lot of setbacks especially as its production started in late 2019.
By March 2020, the production of the series was put to a stop as the world completely shut down due to the threat of the pandemic. The production team commenced by May 2021 and filmed in Czech Republic but with Orlando Bloom wasn't available because his partner, Katy Perry, just gave birth.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly in February 2021, Tamzin Merchant, who plays Imogen Spurnrose in the show, revealed that only five out of eight episodes were wrapped up.
On August 7, Cara Delevingne, who plays Vignette Stonemoss, shared behind-the-scenes photos of her pert posterior in nude underwear and a matching harness, teasing the upcoming season.
By September 2021, Orlando Bloom shared a string of photos and bid farewell to his character, Philo, confirming that filming has wrapped for Carnival Row Season 2, which sends the series to its post-production.
The official Twitter account of Carnival Row also shared first look set photos to celebrate the final day of production for Season 2, teasing the return of Philo and Vignette.
However, in November 2021, it has been confirmed that Carnival Row will be ending with Season 2 as it is not renewed for a third season as reported by Deadline.
Carnival Row Season 2 Release Date: Is The Series Coming Out in February 2023?
Yes! Finally, the long wait would soon be over! On November 9, 2022, Amazon Studios announced that Carnival Row Season 2 is set to premiere on the streaming service on February 17, 2023.
Carnival Row Season 2 is slated to release 10 episodes that would arrive on Amazon Prime Video on a weekly basis which means that the series will run on the streaming platform until April 2023.
In July 2022, Cara Delevingne talked to Entertainment Weekly about joining Only Murders, and she mentioned that she already wrapped filming for Carnival Row Season 2.
I had just wrapped on Carnival Row and I was thinking I kind of wanted to take a bit of a break and focus on other stuff. And then I got a call from my agent and she literally said, “Only Murders,” and I was like, “Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. A hundred percent.” No hesitation. No questions asked. I literally didn’t even know about the character. I just was so ready. Honestly, I couldn’t have picked a better opportunity. I really still can’t even believe it happened.
This is a good sign that Carnival Row Season 2 is close to arriving on Prime Video.

The official synopsis of Carnival Row Season 2 reads:
"In a fantasy world where humans and creatures clash, season 2 of Carnival Row picks up with former inspector Rycroft Philostrate (AKA Philo) investigating a series of gruesome murders stoking social tension.
Vignette Stonemoss and the Black Raven plot payback for the unjust oppression inflicted by The Burgue's human leaders, Jonah Breakspear and Sophie Longerbane. Tourmaline inherits supernatural powers that threaten her fate and the future of The Row.
And, after escaping The Burgue and her vengeful brother Ezra, Imogen Spurnrose and her partner Agreus Astrayon encounter a radical new society which upends their plans. With humans and fae folk divided and freedom on the line, each hero will face impossible dilemmas and soul-defining tests in the epic conclusion of Carnival Row."
In the last episode of Season 1, the government ordered a segregation plan to divide the magical creatures from the rest of the people. Knowing that Vignette would be separated from him, Philo confronted that he too is half magical creature so he decided to join her in the ghetto.
Elsewhere, Agreus and Imogen sailed away to a safer place in the finale of Season 1. However, they refused to go back when the authorities ordered their ship to return.
Tazmin Merchant, who plays Imogen, teased what's ahead for her character and Agreus in Season 2.
“Imogen and Agreus get on the ship at the end of season 1, and everything is grand for the first five minutes of season 2,” the actress told EW. “And then things go very badly wrong for them.”
