Camilla Parker Bowles is a force to be reckoned with.

Camilla has been supporting Prince Charles and the royal family for years. She has also been a great influence on her husband, even though, at first, their relationship was looked down upon by royal fans and critics. After all, Prince Charles and Camilla had an affair while the future king was still married to Princess Diana.

It took the public decades before they finally accepted Camilla and welcomed her with open arms. So, Queen Elizabeth’s recent request for Camilla to be styled as queen consort when Prince Charles ascends the throne didn’t come as a surprise to many.

Camilla was also the one that brought Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth closer to each other.

“Her [Camilla] family is her nucleus — she is extremely close to her son, Tom, daughter, Laura, and five grandchildren. She remains on good terms with her ex-husband, Andrew Parker Bowles, and counts her sister, Annabel, as her best friend. Her ‘family first’ motto has rubbed off on Charles, who speaks to Prince William almost every day on the phone and is closer than ever to his mother,” Nicholl said (via Express).

Camilla Parker Bowles Has Been Supporting Prince Charles For Years

As such, it was not surprising for the queen to have made her feelings known about her daughter-in-law.

“When, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes King, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me; and it is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service,” she said.

But the royal insider also acknowledged the fact that not everyone wants Camilla to be queen consort. After all, some royal fans still have so much love and respect for Princess Diana. And other also wants Kate Middleton to become their queen consort and not Camilla.

“There will always be some backlash but you can't please everybody all the time. There will be people from certain constituencies who might complain,” the royal insider said.

Camilla Parker Bowles Doesn’t Overpower Prince Charles Unlike Princess Diana

Royal photographer Arthur Edwards also praised Camilla for supporting Prince Charles and for not trying to overpower him.

“When Diana was around, we'd be walking and everybody would say, 'Diana, Diana, Diana.' And Prince Charles would be all on his own. But no longer – Camilla walks behind Prince Charles, she supports him. He's in the lead, and she follows. She's a supporter and he's incredibly happy. And when something tickles them, they laugh,” he said via (Express).
