Fans may not see Britney Spears performing live onstage again as she reportedly has developed trauma from touring.

Sure, music will forever be Britney’s love and passion, but she may not hit the road again anytime soon. But will new music or an album be coming?

Britney Spears is Reportedly Traumatized from Touring

A source told Page Six that the Pop Princess, who gets credit for influencing the revival of teen pop in the late 1990s and early 2000s, “has trauma from touring.”

“For so many years, she was handed grueling itineraries and made to perform — even before her conservatorship,” the insider added.

Her breaking point came in 2018 when her Las Vegas residency already ended. But her team turned it into an international tour, with an additional 30 concerts across the U.S. and Europe.

“She desperately needed a break after four years in Vegas and didn’t get one. And then they had the nerve to book a second Vegas residency right after,” the tipster continued.

Britney’s first Sin City outing, Britney: Piece of Me, earned over $137.7 million from 248 shows between 2013 and 2017.

However, her second residency, Britney: Domination, was canceled after her father, Jamie Spears, sent her to a mental health facility weeks before its launch date in 2019.

Is Britney Spears Done with Touring?

Aside from Page Six, TMZ claimed Britney isn’t interested in performing on stage anymore as she’s allegedly “tired of the grind of performing.”

But these claims don’t come from the sources alone.

Britney herself talked about the highs and lows of her career on Instagram, hinting at the possibility of not performing live anymore due to its “draining” rehearsals.

She added,

“I know I’m not playing in huge arenas with my loud band anymore, but I will be honest and say life on the road is hard!!! My first three years in the biz and on the road were great, but I’ll be completely honest and say that after those three tours and the pace I was going … I don’t think I ever want to do it again!!! I hated it!!! I read an interview a long time ago where Will Smith even said the music industry is a whole different animal compared to movies!!! I agree it’s too much!!!”

In a different post in March 2023, the Grammy winner once again said that touring could be “pretty draining” as she had been in the industry for over half her age.

Britney said,

“I was in the music industry for over half of my life!!! I was told by someone who directed movies that the music industry is a different beast … especially touring!!! It’s fun at first, but if you’ve done it for a while, being in a different city constantly gets pretty draining!!! I have done like 10 tours!!!”

Though she may never tour again, fans are hopeful there will be new music or an album from her.
