Blade Star Lambasts Black Widow: 'It Looks Like Garbage to Me'

Excitement has been building up for literally years now for Marvel Studios' standalone Black Widow film which serves as Scarlett Johansson's emotional MCU send-off. The film has been halted on several occasions but now, nothing can stop its upcoming premiere.

However, despite the fact that the entire Marvel fandom has been gushing over the film, especially the critics who got the chance to screen it early, there are people who aren't too fond of the studios' first film offering in two years.

In fact, another Marvel actor berated Black Widow and pretty much described it as garbage. Stephen Dorff, who played Deacon Frost in the original Blade movie starring Wesley Snipes recently spoke with The Independent and took a huge jab at the MCU and the current state of Hollywood. According to him, he feels embarrassed for Scarlett for taking on the project which he thinks looks like a terrible video game.

He said: "I still hunt out the good s**t because I don't want to be in Black Widow. It looks like garbage to me. It looks like a bad video game. I'm embarrassed for those people. I'm embarrassed for Scarlett! I'm sure she got paid five, seven million bucks, but I'm embarrassed for her. I don't want to be in those movies. I really don't. I'll find that kid director that's gonna be the next Kubrick and I'll act for him instead."

We don't know exactly where Dorff's sentiments are coming from but you can definitely feel some bitterness with the way he criticized the film. And let's be honest, MCU films, for the most part, are created for comic book fans and not for hardcore film aficionados so taking it apart doesn't seem fair at all. And with Black Widow already getting positive reviews from critics, I wouldn't exactly take Dorff's words way too seriously.

Black Widow hits cinemas and Disney+ on July 9, 2021.
