Black Panther 2 Will Reportedly Have Longer Runtime Than Most MCU Films

There's been a lot of anticipation for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Not only fans are curious about how the film is going to address T'Challa's death, but they're also wondering about which character will take the mantle of the Black Panther as well as the official introduction of Namor in the MCU. Now, it looks like the film is also being set as one of the longest films in the franchise to date.

According to a new listing on the Cineplex website (via ComicBook.com), Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will have a runtime of 2 hours and 41 minutes which will make it the second longest MCU film to date after Avengers: Endgame. Right now, Eternals takes the spot as it has a runtime of 2 hours and 36 minutes.

We do have to take note that the runtime information has not been confirmed by either Marvel or Disney so we have to take it with a grain of salt for now until it becomes official. However, in the past, we have seen a lot of theater websites reveal an accurate runtime for upcoming films so there is a likelihood that it's true.

Considering that the film is expected to explore a lot of storylines including the mere fact that they have to address the death of Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa, it does make sense to hear that they will have a longer runtime so that they can take their time on exploring all the storylines and arcs and pay them off.

However, a film's long runtime doesn't necessarily give us a clue about its quality and we will find out once we watch it if it's indeed the right length or if it stayed too long. If ever it becomes official, it looks like we're in for a long ride when we sit back and watch it in cinemas.
