Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson set the entire comic book film fandom ablaze after he hinted on social media that Black Adam will square off with Superman on the big screen. For months now, fans have been keeping their hopes up for a Man of Steel appearance in the upcoming DC Extended Universe film, and considering their rich history in the comics, it makes a ton of sense to see them go at it.

However, Johnson didn't exactly specify if Henry Cavill will actually reprise the role which left many incredibly concerned. On top of that, a new rumor circulated online that Black Adam's jaw-dropping cameo will feature yet another "faceless" Superman.

On Twitter, fans expressed their growing frustration and unhappiness over Warner Bros. and DC Films' treatment of the British actor who pretty much kickstarted the whole franchise nearly 10 years ago. If you may recall, both Shazam! and Peacemaker featured cameo appearances from DC's flagship superhero but both projects made use of a stand-in actor instead of Cavill himself.

It's been a huge mystery for years now as to why WB has been hesitant in bringing Henry back to the franchise despite the calls from fans. Even Cavill himself has stated on numerous occasions that he still has his sights set on returning as Superman so I don't understand what's stopping the studio from pulling the trigger.

WB better act with a sense of urgency because it's not like Cavill is getting any younger. Or might as well just reboot the entire DCEU altogether and rebuild it from scratch.

DC's Black Adam is scheduled for theatrical release on October 21, 2022.
