Ben Affleck has been in several relationships throughout his life. He was once engaged to Jennifer Lopez before they called things off in the early 2000s. Affleck then dated and wed Jennifer Garner, but their marriage eventually ended in divorce.
Following Ben Affleck and Garner’s split, the actor briefly dated Saturday Night Live producer, Lindsay Shookus. The exes also split after a couple of months before Affleck was photographed hanging out with Ana de Armas.
But what the actor’s fans do not know is that Affleck hung out with a woman named Katie Cherry after his split from Shookus and before he dated de Armas.

Ben Affleck Dated Non-Celebrity Katie Cherry In 2019
Cherry, who has not spoken with Affleck in months, recently shared details about their almost-relationship.
Star, in its Dec. 27 issue, detailed the conversation that they had with Affleck’s one-time fling. Cherry said that Affleck was a good guy when they were together, and he exerted all sorts of efforts for her after realizing that she wasn’t after his fame and money.
“He was very sweet and charming and funny and I was like, ‘Hey, this guy is kind of cute.’ He was definitely looking for something deep and meaningful,” she said.
Cherry was also surprised to know that Affleck was such a homebody. After all, her impression of him was that he loved to go and party with his friends.
“His favorite thing to do is sit at home, watch movies, and have his chef cook something. I usually don’t date industry people because they’re so full of themselves and so Hollywood, but Ben is the complete opposite,” she gushed.

After fourth months of going on video calls with each other, Affleck and Cherry decided to finally meet. And after a couple of months thereafter, the Batman v Superman actor surprised Cherry when he professed his love for her.
Cherry said that she didn’t say it back to Affleck because she knew that their short-lived relationship wasn’t meant to last. After all, their priorities were different and it was obvious early on that Affleck was looking for something serious and permanent.
Ben Affleck Moved In With Jennifer Garner After His Relapse
The film scorer claimed to have witnessed Affleck’s relapse years ago, which reportedly happened at a party where Billie Eilish performed.
“He had a vodka cranberry and it was almost clear. I’m pretty sure the bartender was like, ‘Oh, it’s Ben Affleck, I’m going to make it really strong’ and it hit him really fast,” she said.
When the news broke that Affleck had a relapse, the actor’s first thought was his children. He said that he wanted to make sure that Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel are OK.
Following the incident, Affleck stayed at Garner’s home for several days until he got better. And Cherry praised the actress for helping Affleck with his sobriety.
“He said generally that she was a good mom. I did notice that she did call him quite a bit, but it seems like they just really love their kids and want to do their best to keep a good relationship for that reason,” Cherry said.

Cherry isn’t also surprised that Affleck and Lopez got back together. After all, the couple seems to be on the page when it comes to their values, goals, and priorities.
“They both have kids. Ben’s very family-oriented. He’s looking for something very deep and J.Lo is obviously someone he feels very connected to. They seem like a really great match,” she concluded.
Life & Style, in its Dec. 27 issue, published a similar story about Cherry and Affleck. The former said that the actor is very family-oriented, and she’s happy that he’s back with Lopez.
“He’s a very loving and sweet guy. He’s going back to someone he was really connected to,” she said.

Ben Affleck Criticized Following His ‘Trapped’ Comments
However, Cherry’s recent revelation about Affleck seemed like a far cry from the criticisms that he’s been receiving in the past couple of days.
Following his interview with Howard Stern, Garner’s fans slammed Affleck following his “trapped” comments.
Affleck clarified what he meant when he said that he felt trapped in his marriage to Garner when he visited Jimmy Kimmel Live.
“I had gone on about how much we respected each other and how we cared about each other and cared about our kids and put them first. And went through our stuff. And they said that I had blamed my ex-wife for my alcoholism and that I was trapped in this marriage and just made me out to be the worst, most insensitive, stupid, awful guy,” he said.
Affleck also said that he wants his kids to know that they will never say anything negative or bad about their mom.
