Ben Affleck Returns as Batman in Aquaman 2

When it was announced that Ben Affleck is returning as Batman in The Flash, a lot of fans celebrated his comeback as they thought that he has already moved on from playing the character. His upcoming appearance is also expected to be his last turn in the role. Now, it looks like he is going to make an earlier comeback as he is set to show up in another upcoming DCEU film.

Jason Momoa revealed on his Instagram post that Affleck is returning as Batman/Bruce Wayne in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. This also serves as their reunion since they previously appeared together in Justice League.

In his caption, Momoa seemingly implied that Affleck's appearance in the sequel was uncovered after he was caught filming with the Oscar winner on the Warner Bros. studio tour.

As a result, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will now be Affleck's DCEU comeback since it will be released months before The Flash next year. It is unknown yet whether Affleck will show up for a cameo role or appear in a couple of scenes. The film is currently undergoing reshoots in the Warner Bros. backlot.

It is exciting to hear that Affleck will also return in the Aquaman sequel which was welcomed by a lot of fans and were also surprised to hear the news as they thought that he is only set to make an appearance in The Flash. While we don't know the nature of his appearance, an easy guess is that he will only show up for a cameo possibly connecting to The Flash.

Besides Momoa and Affleck, the film also stars Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Nicole Kidman, Temuera Morrison, Randall Park, Vincent Regan, Indya Moore, and Pilou Asbæk. James Wan is also returning to direct.
